The Indians could be back in the mix for a playoff spot by the time the Yankees visit town. I’ll be shocked if Clevinger doesn’t throw a number of quality innings in this three-game series which means we could see Lynn pitching for a lot more wins this season than Clevinger.

If Clevinger starts well and Lynn doesn’t, how many potential innings can Clevinger throw before being shut down? How many meaningful victories does Clevinger pick up in this series? (Although as with all MLB teams, he is from last year’s MVP-caliber team. Clevinger lost the AL Cy Young).

Clevinger is a guy who usually pitches better when the Cactus League teams come to town, and since he leads all starters in ERA, I’d expect him to give his team a great shot of winning. Let’s see what he can do on a big stage with a great hitter like Judge all around him.

If they’re in first place at the end of the year, they could be breathing down the neck of the Oakland A’s for the division lead. (no one is even talking about the fact that the Royals are doing pretty well, as they’re sitting at 4-3).
